Indeed college is and should be a very fun time in your life. At the same time, it will probably bring with it some of the most stressful times in your life. <br /><br />UT was also a difficult place for me to adjust. Although I went to mixed high school, I went to two historically Black colleges for my undergraduate and graduate degrees. Therefore, when I stepped on UT's campus into a sea of Whiteness I experienced a case of culture shock. The same will most likely happen to you when the fall comes and all the other (mostly White) students make their way back to school. Although it is important to interact with people unlike you, it is also crucial that you have interactions with those like you and around whom you feel you can be yourself. The key is to find spaces and outlets that will allow you to do this, such as the Black Cultural Center, Black Greek Lettered Organizations, the Black Cultural Programming Committee, Minority Achievement Program, and other organizations for minorities on campus.CNWhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05880442553451974546noreply@blogger.com
